Free Meditation Course

Willpower Institute Video

In 2007 I decided it was time. Time to take that meditation course at the building behind the library. I had seen the sign for years but I didn’t have the time, with running the kids here and there and my husband on shift work. But my kids were older now and it was time to do something for me. Something life changing and it was!

The Meditation  course was written by a Buddhist Monk, Luangphor, who brought his meditation course from Thailand to Canada. Luangphor believes that by teaching meditation we can bring about world peace. Personally I believe him.

For 6 months I attended the temple on Morrison St in Niagara Falls. From Monday to Friday 7 to 9 pm. Yes, we had breaks at Christmas, other holidays and a couple of snow days to. The teachers were wonderful. Luonghor , who was 88 at the time, came and visited the class a couple of times. The teachers are all former students trained by Luangphor.

What has meditation done for me? Well firstly, it has rid me of my flash anger. You know, that anger that wells up inside you and then explodes. I  think it was a learned behavior, my father had it. It is gone, thankfully. I only wish that I had done it sooner then my children would have benefited from a better parent.

It has also made me more self-aware and self-reflective. I have identified my place in the world and how I effect others. You calm your mind and therefore you calm your world. It has been 2 years and meditation becomes easier the more you practice. This course provides you with the tools to make some real changes in your life, for you. You are the only one that can make those changes no one can do it for you.

At the end of the course we were given the opportunity to go to Thailand for 2 weeks, which I could not pass up. It was a wonderful experience we were joined by over 700 Thai people who had also taken the meditation course in Thailand. You will never meet nicer people in the world.

So don’t pass up this opportunity take the course this year. The orientation session is on September 18 from 2 to 4 pm. The classes will be Monday to Friday from 1 to 3 pm. It is free, the only thing that you have to purchase is the book. You will know if the time is right for you to make this commitment to improve and change your life for the better.

Watch the you tube video above. Join us for the orientation, I will be there.

Spiritual Retreat

Posted by kupperware on Jul 3, 2010 in Tools

Last weekend was a gift. I spent the weekend at Rock Point Provincial Park, a beautiful place, and participated in an Indigenous Alchemy, healing session, with Jason Cook, Souls in Progress.

I was joined on this adventure with 8 other brave women. Throughout the weekend Jason assigned us various tasks that allowed us to pull the answers from our inner being. I was quite surprised to find that the answers to my pain were already there inside me just waiting for me to wake up and listen.

I discovered that change can only come from transformation. As they say if you keep doing what you have always been doing then you keep getting what you have always been getting. It can be a real challenge to change but it can be done one step at a time. This is a difficult endeavor when attempted alone. I suggest that you find a guide, a teacher who can show you what you already know.

It is an interesting and beautiful experience to hear your soul sing.

Okay so I am addicted to Podcasts. I play them in my car all the time. When I am alone it is all that I listen to. I always want to be learning something about spiritual energy and podcasts can give you that and it is free.

You just have to download the itunes program and then go into the istore and you can download all kinds of podcasts for free. I put them on my ipod but if you don’t have an ipod you can listen to them on your computer and directly from the websites.  My favourite one right now is Everything is Energy. It is a husband and wife team, Dave and Kristin Morelli and they interview guests that talk about the power of energy and spiritual subjects. Today I was listening to a pod cast about Feng Shui and how to use it.

I also suggest Beyond Reason another talk show where they have various spiritual guests offering their advice on how to live a more spiritual life. For those of you that idenitfy with the law of attraction there is the Law of Attraction Talk radio and the Law of Attraction Center. Sounds True, Insights at the Edge,  is also an excellent talk show.

I feel that the podcasts help me to continue to think the way that I want to think and to not be driven or influenced by the outside world. As we all know that can be difficult at times. So give podcasts a try and let me know if there are any others that you connect with.

Frustration

Posted by kupperware on May 16, 2010 in Uncategorized

Kind of a strange week, I have been experiencing some health issues and I am finding it difficult to view this with a spiritual eye.

Okay, so everything happens for a reason. Why do I have an arachnoid cyst on my spinal cord? Why has my shoulder been swollen for 4 years now? Why does one doctor say it is the cyst that is causing the shoulder problem and one says it isn’t?

I guess, I just want the answers right away. I want to stop being in pain. I think that eventually I will discover why this has happened and what my lesson is but I want to know now.

I continue to work on trusting and attempting to listen to my intuition. How do I know it’s my intuition and not my ego? I always include how that choice makes me feel. Does it feel right to do that? I mean emotionally, does it feel right? I have found that this feeling of rightness can and does still include fear. Fear can exist but it still feels like the right thing to do. I believe there is fear in any situation when the definite outcome is unknown.

I think that I need to see yet another doctor and for some reason going to Toronto feels right. I may have to wait until August 5, my next neurologist appointment, although I am thinking that I should go see my family doctor before that to ask for another referral.

I find that the amount of pain I experience seems to be my motivator. Luckily I am not in alot of pain all the time it just depends on how much I do. Although there are times when I haven’t done anything and it still is aching.

The Universe must have a reason for bringing this into my life. I just hope I can continue to keep that belief and not allow frustration to drive me to think or believe otherwise. After all it could definitely be worse.

What if the reason for my condition is so I would write about my frustration, post it on a blog and you would read it. Wouldn’t that be weird?

Affirmation: “I love and appreciate myself. I am the best possible person that I can be right now. ”

Peace

Everything Happens for a Reason

Posted by kupperware on May 2, 2010 in Uncategorized

We experience what we do in our lives for a reason and we are solely responsible for this. We need to realize this and take responsibility for our lives. This includes the people in our lives, the circumstances in which we live and everything that surrounds us.

Now this can be a little hard to take especially if you are in an abusive relationship or hate your current circumstances. You may think “I didn’t choose this; It’s all her fault: or she or he did this to me;” but actually it is you that attracted those people. What you have to do now is find out what lesson are you suppose to learn from this.

If for example you are agoraphobic, afraid of open spaces and afraid to go outside, and as a result you spend all your time researching on the internet and you become incredibly knowledgeable of so many things. If you hadn’t been agoraphobic then you wouldn’t have gained that knowledge.

The Universe puts you in your situation for a reason. Do you know of someone who continues to attract the same type of relationship again and again, just with different people? It is because they have not learned their lesson. If it is an abusive relationship then maybe the lesson is to learn to stand up for yourself and speak your truth, to care for yourself enough to walk away and not allow some to treat you that way, to learn to care for yourself first and then care for others.

We all have our lessons to learn in this lifetime. We have to learn that we are responsible for our situation. We have to identify that we are supposed to learn so that we can continue to grow into the enlightened creators that we are all meant to be.

Welcome to my First Blog

Posted by kupperware on Apr 25, 2010 in Uncategorized

Welcome to my first blog entry. I wanted to start this blog for a couple of reasons.

  1. To document what I have learned and by doing so hold myself accountable to that lesson.
  2. To provide others with information on self development and spiritual development and who knows maybe the opportunity to not make the same mistakes that I do.

I know that we learn so much from our mistakes but we can also gain lessons from the mistakes of others.

I will discuss various topic headings and I hope for the opportunity to engage with you in discussions through your comments. I used to love to write and I have gotten away from it for too long.

Today I would like to discuss taking risks. It can and is a very uncomfortable thing to do but it is what you need to do to bring change to your life. In fact, doing this blog is a risk for me. Putting my ideas out there for others view and agree or disagree with. I don’t fear criticism I like to receive feedback,  again this helps us to make improvements in ourselves and our lives. I guess my greatest fear is publicly expressing thoughts that for the longest time have been very internal. It is like removing your privacy.  I just feel that right now this is the right thing to do.

I think that when it comes to taking risks it is not about doing something that you don’t want to do. It is about doing something that actually feels right but you are just a little afraid to do it. That fear, I think, is the fear of change, the fear of the unknown. You just have to trust the Universe that it has your highest good in mind and go for it! If, when you think about making this change,  you feel the excitement that this change could bring to your life then it is definitely the right thing to do. You have to go with your gut, trust your intuition and step outside of your comfort zone. If the change is too big for you then just take some small steps towards it everyday. Just stop talking about what you are going to do and take some steps to do it. If you fail to try you will never know. Thomas Edison experimented with thousands of different filaments to find just the right materials to glow well and be long lasting. Thank goodness he didn’t give up we might still be sitting in the dark. lol

I want to thank all those that are on the website and all our newsletter subscribers for their support in the growth of this website. I welcome your comments and I look forward to our discussions.

Have a great day. :)
